You’ve probably heard the hype about fiber and how it can do a lot of good for your digestive system. While the beneficial properties of the fiber are clear, just what are the reasons to eat fiber and why is fiber important for your diet? The answer is simple but not always apparent. Fiber, along with its byproducts, help to keep the digestive tract healthy by helping the intestine break down the food and eliminate them.
The fiber can also go to the colon, where it serves as an end product or in the bloodstream. In the latter case, it is absorbed into the bloodstream, where it helps to flush out the bowel with waste from the digestive tract. The products of fiber are partially digested and then eliminated via the bowel while remaining behind as a laxative effect.
The best way to get fiber in your diet should be from eating fruits and vegetables. You should eat about twenty-five grams a day.

Ginger is made up of a number of natural compounds, including compounds that are helpful in preventing heart disease. But these compounds are very potent antioxidants, and because they reduce the levels of bad cholesterol, they can increase the levels of good cholesterol. This increases the amount of good cholesterol that is being transported to the liver, which will reduce your cholesterol levels.
But this is only one side of the ginger. In fact, one of the main functions of ginger is to reduce high blood pressure. And if you think you have high blood pressure, you may also find that ginger can lower it. So, ginger can reduce high blood pressure but can also be used to treat a number of other conditions.
Ginger can help prevent Alzheimer’s
Ginger has been found to be extremely effective in the prevention of heart disease and can protect against Alzheimer’s disease. A number of scientific studies have now found out that ginger can act as a neuroprotective agent by lowering the level of Aβ or plaque in the brain. Plaque is a deadly problem that builds up in the brain over time, which leads to Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is a fatal condition that targets the formation of plaque that eventually damages the brain tissue and destroys it. An effective solution to this disease lies in natural ingredients that are used in large amounts in Ginger capsules.
It has been found out, that it can protect against Alzheimer’s by preventing brain damage. The main component of ginger which can protect against Alzheimer’s is the gingerols, which are in the extract form of ginger. Gingers are known to lower the levels of plaque in the brain and increase the production of brain cells. Essential oils have been around for a very long time. Historically, essential oils have been used to cure sickness, relieve symptoms, and help people feel better after long illnesses.
These are natural aromatic compounds found in seeds, roots, stems, bark, flowers and other parts of plants that have incredible medicinal properties.
However, when some people think of essential oils, they may lift their noses. Because of the 1910 Flexner report and the alliance between “Big Pharma” and the American Medical Association (AMA), oils are no longer a crucial part of the medical curriculum.
As medicine continues focusing on drugs, prescribing a “pill for every disease,” proven remedies and traditions are taking hold, and essential oils have lost some of their popularity.
Cancer patients have however started a new resurgence of essential oils. Through aromatherapy, many cancer patients have found relief from the terrible effects of chemotherapy and those caused by their illness. They use aromatherapy techniques during their recovery. They may even use the essential oil as a treatment as you will see at the end of the article.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a natural modality that can help patients cope with chronic pain, nausea, stress, and depression. It has also been used to boost the immune system, fight bacterial infections, increase circulation, relieve headaches, relieve muscle pain, and help you sleep at night. It is promoted that each oil has specific health benefits, so patients should find the right oils for their health problems.
Common essential oils used in aromatherapy and their health benefits include:
Eucalyptus can fight migraines, fevers, respiratory problems, and bacterial infections.
Bergamot is used to treat stress, anxiety, depression, skin infections, and fatigue.
Lavender is used to relieving stress, treat depression, reduce inflammation, and act as a natural decongestant.
Peppermint is a stimulant that can refine your concentration, improve your mental alertness and increase your energy.
Chamomile is a soothing essential oil that has antibacterial properties and can reduce inflammation and chronic pain.
These essential oils, and many others, can be used to help relieve some of the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of allopathic cancer treatments such as chemotherapy.
How Aromatherapy Can Be Used to Help Patients Recover from Cancer?
Aromatherapy can be administered by a professional or self-administered. Many aromatherapists found in the United States are also massage therapists, chiropractors, psychologists, or social workers.
They can use the oils in their practices to relieve the pain of some of their patients and improve their quality of life. In the United States, you can buy oils and a home diffuser to self-administer your aromatherapy treatments. Essential oils can be used individually or in combination to obtain maximum benefits.
Different oils can work differently in unique individuals since everyone has unique body chemistry. For this reason, aromatherapy can take time to improve your symptoms. You may need to try many oils and oil combinations before you find oil or combination of oils that really works for you.
Once you discover the proper oils, they can be applied to your skin or inhaled. For inhalation purposes, a home diffuser can be bought. A household diffuser uses water to humidify your home and add essential oils to your environment.
You can also add a few drops of essential oils in a pan of steaming water or in your shower every day to vaporize the oils and inhale them.
If essential oils are applied directly to the skin, they may need to be applied with a carrier oil. Coconut oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil are great carrier oils that can absorb essential oils and help your body absorb them properly. You can also create your own creams or ointments that contain essential oils for use in sore muscles or any painful area of your body.
What About Frankincense?
This article wouldn’t be complete without bringing up frankincense. For over 5,000 years, frankincense (also known as “Boswellia Serrata”) has been used to support the immune system, combat infection, and cure diseases. Yes, even cancer!
A 2013 study by researchers at the University of Leicester indicated that frankincense contains an AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) compound that targets cancer cells, including brain, breast, pancreatic, colon, ovarian, prostate and stomach cancers. However, it has not been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, but the first results are very promising!
According to researchers at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, frankincense helps regulate cellular epigenetic machinery, highlighting its ability to influence genes to promote healing. As a result, they believe it can be effective for both the prevention and treatment of cancer!
Bitter melon (also known as Momordica charantia, bitter gourd, wild cucumber, and more) is a plant that gets its name from its taste. It grows more and more bitter as it ripens.
It grows in a number of areas (including Asia, South America, the Caribbean, and East Africa) where people have used bitter melon for a variety of medical conditions over time.
Bitter melon contains many nutrients that can be beneficial to your health. It’s linked to lowering blood sugar, which some studies suggest means it can aid in diabetes treatment.
What the research says about bitter melon and diabetes
Bitter melon is linked to lowering the body’s blood sugar. This is because the bitter melon has properties that act like insulin, which helps bring glucose into the cells for energy. The consumption of bitter melon can help your cells utilize glucose and move it to your liver, muscles, and fat. The melon has been shown to help your body retain nutrients by blocking their conversion to glucose that ends up in your bloodstream.
In January 2011, the results of a four-week clinical trial were published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology , which showed that a 2,000 mg daily dose of bitter melon significantly reduced blood glucose levels among patients with type 2 diabetes,
Other older studies have also suggested an association between bitter melon intake and improved glycemic control, while a report published in the March 2008 issue of Chemistry and Biology found that bitter melon increased cellular uptake of glucose and improved glucose tolerance.
Nutritional benefits of bitter melon
As a fruit that also has properties of a vegetable, bitter melon contains a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It has been recognized by many cultures as having medicinal value. Some of its nutritional benefits include:
vitamins C, A, E, B-1, B-2, B-3, and B-9
minerals like potassium, calcium, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, and iron
antioxidants like phenols, flavonoids, and others
What other health benefits does it have?
Bitter melon is used in traditional medicine for:
It is also used to heal wounds, assist childbirth and, in parts of Africa and Asia, prevent or treat malaria and viral diseases such as measles and chicken pox.
In addition, researchers from Saint Louis University in the US say they have shown that an extract from bitter melon can kill breast cancer cells and prevent them from growing and spreading.
Forms and doses of bitter melon
You may find bitter melon in its natural vegetable form, as a supplement, and even as a tea. To prepare the fresh fruit, first remove the seeds. Then blanch or soak it in salt water before you cook it to help with the bitter taste. It’s often stuffed, stir-fried, or cooked with other vegetables.
As far as supplements go one of the most popular supplements that is highly recommended is blood sugar blaster which contains bitter melon along with over 20 herbs vitamins and minerals clinically proven to lower blood sugar levels.
With all the scientific evidence showing the benefits of bitter melon it would be smart to add it to your diet. Either eaten as part of a meal, in a tea or taken as a supplement, adding this amazing super food to your diet can have nothing but positive effects.

You may have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide (common household disinfectant) in your cleaning cabinet or medicine chest.
Hydrogen peroxide is used for cleaning and sterilization. It is also known as a bleaching agent and is used to ensure that the germs are kept away from the surfaces of the table.
This particular compound (chemically represented as H2O2) has much more to provide than just cleaning. Hydrogen peroxide is a perfect home remedy that can be used to fight infections, detoxification, relieve pain and many other applications inside and outside the home.
Discovery and Manufacturing of Hydrogen Peroxide
In 1818, hydrogen peroxide was defined and produced by treating barium peroxide with nitric acid. This process was used to create hydrogen peroxide until the mid-twentieth century. A better version of the compound was created when hydrochloric acid was used to treat barium peroxide.
Sulfuric acid is used for this purpose lately, a process that also provides manufacturers with barium sulfate as a byproduct. Most of the hydrogen peroxide today is produced by the “Anthraquinone” process, as indirect synthesis of elements based on the reduction of oxygen.
Hydrogen peroxide is available in different potencies and concentrations. It is soluble in water and is also available in solution.
How Effective Hydrogen Peroxide as a Remedy
The Technical Explanation
Have you ever wondered why rainwater is more beneficial than tap water? To understand this, we need to understand the chemical compositions of three things: water, hydrogen peroxide, and ozone. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has an oxygen atom more than water (H2O).
The protective layer of earth, ozone, contains three oxygen atoms (O3) and forms when ultraviolet light divides atmospheric oxygen (O2) into two unstable oxygen molecules. These oxygen-free molecules combine to form ozone.
The problem is that ozone is unstable and easily transfers the extra oxygen atom to the rainwater that produces hydrogen peroxide (H2O + O = H2O2). It is this hydrogen peroxide in rainwater that makes it more effective than tap water.
Hydrogen Peroxide is a germicidal agent that destroys microorganisms by oxidation, a process that can be called controlled combustion. On application or ingestion, it reacts with organic substances to decompose them in their elemental form. This separation of water and oxygen pushes extra oxygen into the system, creating an environment in which harmful bacteria or viruses can not survive.
The fact that hydrogen peroxide can kill germs through a process called oxidation makes it the safest and most natural disinfectant in the world because it is composed only of water and oxygen. It detoxifies the system and acts as a germicidal, antibacterial and antiviral agent.
Research indicates that hydrogen peroxide is also needed for many chemical reactions in our bodies. Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, has been shown to produce hydrogen peroxide to fight infections.
Hydrogen peroxide acts to stimulate the active lipid compounds (prostaglandins) production that have a wide range of positive effects, such as:
Accumulation or separation of platelets
Regulation of inflammation
Alleviation of pain by sensitizing spinal neurons
Ability to act on the hypothalamus to produce fever
Control of cell growth
Induction of labor
Inhibition of acid secretion from the stomach wall
Reduction in intraocular pressure
Dilation in vascular smooth muscle cells
Regulation of calcium transportation
Increase in glomerular filtration rate
Health Benefits of Hydrogen Peroxide
One of the health benefits of hydrogen peroxide is cleaning wounds, eliminating parasites, relieving toothache, treating sinus infections, detoxification and treating cancer. Each of these has been detailed below.
Wound cleansing: The most popular hydrogen peroxide application. The compound is often used to clean wounds. When applied to wounds, it acts as a germicide by oxidizing organic matter in the wound and preventing infection.
Washing and rinsing are sufficient, but some experts recommend to soak the wound in a solution of hydrogen peroxide for ten minutes. The solution can also stop bleeding from the wound. It is important to keep in mind that hydrogen peroxide can cause minor damage to open wound tissues if left open for prolonged periods.
Foot Bath for Athlete’s Foot: A 50-50 of hydrogen peroxide and water solution can be used for a foot bath for an athlete’s foot. Diabetic patients reported relief from blood circulatory problems by soaking their feet in dilute H2O2 (1 pint of 3% solution mixed with 1 gallon of non-chlorinated warm water) for 30 minutes each day.
Sinus infections: Hydrogen peroxide is very effective at treating sinus infections. A tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution in a cup of non-chlorinated water can be used as a nasal spray. This can clean the nostrils, eliminate bacteria and prevent the worsening of the disease.
Mouth and Tooth Care: Dentists use hydrogen peroxide for its excellent germicidal and healing properties in procedures such as root canal treatment. It can also be used as a home remedy to whiten teeth, relieve toothache and as a mouthwash. Some even recommend it as an additive in toothpaste.
Hydrogen peroxide is an economical but effective mouthwash. An interesting alternative is to use a solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide with a little chlorophyll (optional) to aromatize it. Mixed with a little baking soda it can form a thick paste to use as a toothpaste.
Hydrogen peroxide can be used for dental care and tooth whitening, without incurring additional expense due to costly strips and uncomfortable trays.
Efficient Cleansing of the Colon, Enema, and Douche: Two cups of a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution in a gallon of warm water is an effective colonic and can eliminate various toxins. A tablespoon in a quart of lukewarm water works well as an enema. Two caps of 3% solution in warm distilled water can be used as a douche to eliminate yeast infections.
Although hydrogen peroxide is used for these applications, it is imperative to maintain a good bacterial flora. It is also recommended to use the recommended dilution level for these applications in order to get the most out of the remedy.
Mites Infection: Hydrogen peroxide is an incredible remedy for skin infected by mites. Apply twice to the infected skin, leaving a few minutes of rest between applications. You can also add two quarts of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your bath and soak for at least half an hour to eliminate mites and other toxins. This will not only kill the infection but also rejuvenate you.
Toothache Relief: Hydrogen peroxide is not an analgesic, but a healing agent. It eliminates the pathogens effectively that cause infection and inflammation, the underlying cause of toothache.
If you suddenly develop a toothache and unable to go to the dentist immediately, put 3% hydrogen peroxide in your mouth for ten minutes and spit out. Do it several times a day and you will see an exceptional reduction in pain.
Inhalation of Hydrogen Peroxide
The inhalation method is one of the most popular ways to use hydrogen peroxide for internal purposes. According to Bill Munro (March 1924), it is possible to reduce the high levels of PSA caused by prostate cancer by inhaling hydrogen peroxide using a nasal spray pump. Recommend dosing of five pumps, six times a day.
Inhalation therapy is easy. Any nasal pump would work as long as it sprayed a fine mist. Empty the contents of the nasal pump and wash thoroughly to rinse all soap water.
Fill it with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Point the bottle towards the back of the throat and inhale strongly. Do this five times at a time. Be careful not to breathe through your nose.
To treat the viral infection, you must pump every two hours. It may take a day and a half or two days for the infection to disappear. For infections that have persisted in the blood for a long time, it can take between one and two weeks.
Other Uses and Benefits of Hydrogen Peroxide
In addition to the health benefits mentioned above, you can benefit from many other applications of hydrogen peroxide.
Hair lightening: It can be used to lighten the color of your hair as a bleaching agent. A 50-50 of hydrogen peroxide and water solution sprayed on wet hair can diminish the complexion of hair. The cost of this solution is nothing compared to commercial hair dyes that can be expensive and damage the hair in the long run.
Versatile Disinfectant: The combined use of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar (which are not mixed but used separately at the same time) is much better than the use of commercial bleach. It is non-toxic and kills almost all E. coli, Shigella and Salmonella bacteria in contaminated food, as well as on surfaces. When sprayed separately on vegetables, cutting boards, sinks, countertops and floors, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide mix for a short time, which leads to a chemical action that produces a new compound, a powerful sanitizer and disinfectant.
Removes Stains: A solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide can be used as a powerful stain remover. It can fight against blood stains up to two months old. Be careful not to use it too much to protect your clothes from discoloration.
Dishwashing: Add 2 ounces of H2O2 to the water before washing dishes or putting in the dishwasher. You can be sure that dishes and cutlery do not contain germs.
Fabric Bleach: Instead of synthetic bleach, use H2O2 to bleach white clothing.
Domestic Cleaning: Hydrogen peroxide can be used to clean glass, counters, and mirrors. The trick is a bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide or a few drops on the dust cloth. This will not only kill the germs but will also leave a fresh smell.
Soak Vegetables and Meats: Use 3 percent H2O2 (one-fourth cup in full sink of water) and soak vegetables and meat before cooking to remove harmful chemicals and bacteria present.
Understanding Different Concentrations of H2O2
Regardless of the form, hydrogen peroxide is suitable as a home remedy. Care must be taken to use the correct concentration for different purposes. Not all concentrations are meant for internal use.
Hydrogen peroxide is classified according to its use. Concentrations range from 6% (pharmaceutical grade) to 90% (as an oxygen source for rocket fuel).
Food grade hydrogen peroxide is a purified form of the compound produced for this purpose. Food grade hydrogen peroxide has a concentration of 35% and is more powerful than what you will find in supermarkets.
However, at this concentration, it is a potent, powerful oxidizer and dangerous to consume unless diluted. Concentrations above 10% may damage you and must be diluted before ingestion.
The use of food-grade hydrogen peroxide in a wound will cause a burning or stinging sensation, but will not damage healthy tissue.
When we discuss the antibacterial properties of hydrogen peroxide for various internal and external uses, we must understand that the good bacteria (in the colon and vagina) are aerobic. They depend on the outside or oxygen to blossom.
Harmful pathogens are anaerobic and they can thrive without the presence of oxygen including cancer cells.
There is no controversy about the effectiveness of the hydrogen peroxide produced in the body. It is considered essential for life. There is also no controversy regarding the topical use of the compound.
Today’s controversy stems from the refusal of the medical community to treat any treatment beyond traditional allopathic drug regimens as effective.
Hydrogen peroxide is safe if used according to established guidelines for internal use. It is also an effective and natural product that can help eliminate bacteria and viruses.
The effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide can be measured by the fact that colostrum (the mother’s first milk) contains high amounts of hydrogen peroxide.

Turmeric Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops
4 1″-thick bone-in pork chops 1/2 cup pineapple juice (from a can) 1/4 cup honey Vegetable oil (for the grill) 1/4 cup unseasoned rice vinegar 1/2 tsp. toasted sesame oil 3 Tbsp. Dijon mustard 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric Kosher salt
Prepare a grill for high indirect heat (for a gas grill, leave one or two burners off, for a charcoal grill, put charcoals on one side); oil grate. In a small saucepan, cook over medium heat the pineapple juice, honey, mustard, vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and turmeric, swirling occasionally for 10-15 minutes until reduced to 3/4 cup. Let cool. Transfer half of the sauce to a small bowl and set aside for serving.
Season the pork with salt. Roast over direct heat until browned all over, about 3 minutes per side. Continue grilling, turning several times and basting with remaining sauce, until charred and coated with a thick layer of glaze, about 4 minutes. Move to a cooler part of the grill and take the internal temperature of the pork. If necessary, continue roasting over low heat until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the chops near the bone registers 130°, 1–4 minutes longer. Transfer pork chops to a wire rack and let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with reserved sauce separately.
