Although cervical cancer can take up to three to seven years to detect, a screening can detect the onset of the disease before it has a chance to develop. According to some Obstetricians and Gynecologists, women aged 21 to 29 should undergo a Pap test every three years. Women between 30 and 65 should undergo a Pap test and an HPV test every five years.
