Overeating protein bars
Their magical ratio of high protein and low sugar is only achieved by artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols that can both bloat you up, cause abdominal pain and flatulance. The big-name protein bars don’t usually have a lot of wholesome ingredients and mostly rely on soy protein isolate, a vegetarian protein that doesn’t have any other nutrients. If a bar doesn’t use artificial sweetener, it’s probably got just as much sugar as a Snickers.
